Nguyen Son Lam
Nguyen Son Lam has been a member of UDG since 2015. At the moment, he is pursuing his dance degree in Los Angeles. He has performed with UDG in Song – Life is a game, Between Us 2016, Dancenter’s Annual Show – Imagine and in private events such as Tedx Talks HCMC Vietnam and WeChoice Awards Vietnam 2017.
Lam’s top achievements include:
- So You Think You Can Dance Vietnam Season 3, 2014. Winner, Placed 1st– Favorite dancer in entire country
- Astro Battleground Vietnam 2015. Placed First in Vietnam and went on to represent country – Showcase Dance Division & Battle Team
- BeU Plus, Honda Vietnam, 2012&2016. Placed First overall in country – Dance Division
- Original Gangstaz Singapore, 2013. Placed 1st– Freestyle Team Battle
- Top 5 Got to Dance Vietnam, 2013
- All Out Championship2 Singapore, 2013. Placed 2nd– Popping Team Battle
- Korat Battle Thailand, 2013. Placed 2nd– Popping 2 vs. 2
- Top 4 JusteDebout Singapore, 2011 – Popping 2 vs. 2
Son Lam creates his own style based on the foundations of street style (Popping, House, Hiphop, Breaking, Locking) and studio style (Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary.) He has been focusing on theatre performances and training, instead of competitions and commercial dance. Lam is working on building a knowledgeable, creative and connecting community of dancers. Moreover, he wants dancers to receive a broad recognition as advanced artists.
Lam recently successfully organized Open Mic in HCMC, a dance event for dancers to purely meet and share without any judgements or criticism.
